Pretty in Pink.

Hi everyone, hope you're all still enjoying this beautiful weather. I suppose it's too much to hope that we get weather like this for the 2 days holiday that many of us will be having on the 4th and 5th of June to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. My boss thinks it's ridiculous but she doesn't work unlike the two of us who actually work in the Post Office. I don't mind if there's a little rain between now and then in fact to be honest I don't mind if those two days are fantastic weatherwise or not. A day off is a day off!

Enough waffle though I've just popped on to show you a little card I made. I thought it would work well as a notelet. I love this image, it works really well for all sorts of occasions.

Image :- Hobby Art.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Ribbon and black Stickles.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Cute Card Thursday :- Pink and green.
Truly Scrumptious :- Pretty in pink.

Well I'd best get off and do something useful. I should be able to catch up with my favourite blogs later and do my DT visiting. And then of course there's the usual Sunday job - ironing. I don't mind ironing and it does get it out of the way if i do it today!

Thanks for looking and enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Totally Gorjuss - 133 - Something New.

Good morning everyone, I hope you're all enjoying this fantastic weather we've been having. Hope no-one is suffering from sunburn. I've seen a few people locally who look a bit red and sore. I think we're so unused to this sort of weather that we tend to overdo it. I have to admit to not being a sunbather, always something more interesting to do! I only see the sun when I walk the dogs and its not too hot early in the morning.

Anyway it's Saturday so it's time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week our theme is "Something New." I've used some new stash but you could make a card for a new home or a new baby or maybe use a new technique. It's up to you. We have a new sponsor, Craft All Day, this week, so don't forget to pop over and check out their website.

I'll apologise straight away for the quality of my photo this week. An easel card is bad enough to photograph but a white on white easel card is impossible, at least for my photographic skills. Or lack of them!

Mmmm I don't think this second pic adds anything!

I used :-
Memory Box dies - Butterfly, Poppies and Tulips.
Marianne Designs - flowers and leaves.
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder.
Pearls.
Craftwork Cards sentiment.

I'm also entering the following challenges :-
Creative Inspirations :- Anything goes.
Hot Shot Crafts :- Use die cuts.
Creative Card Crew :- Dimension.

I'll catch up with everyone later. Hope you can join us this week with "Something New."

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

Less is More 68.

Hi everyone. When I noticed that the challenge at Less is More was a card for a baby or child I knew I had to try to enter. Finding time to make a card was the only problem. I had quite a productive day yesterday and managed to stamp all my new boy images from LOTV. I coloured this little cutie, isn't he just great for a card for a wee boy. I only hope the card's simple enough for Less is More. I love that cute doggie. My little grandson loves to go out to play with his doggie too!

I used :-
Image :- Scooter Boy from LOTV.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Ribbon.

Other challenges :-
Charisma :- Now flowers allowed.
Passion for Promarkers :- Birthday card.
Well I have to work this morning as my colleague has to pick up her husband at the airport. It'll be a bit of a thought to start doing housework when I get home but I suppose I'll just have to. Edited to add - as I knew would happen I've got no notion of doing any housework now. I'll clean the bathroom, en-suite and toilet but the rest can wait. Far too nice for housework!!

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up later.

Penny Black 202 - Recycling.

Hi everyone, I've been so busy today that this is me just getting round to posting one of the cards I made! That and the fact that for a while this evening I couldn't even get online thanks to a pathetic broadband connection.

Anyway I very quickly made a card for the challenge at Penny Black. Funny how some cards come together really quickly, and this is one of them. I spent ages making my DT card for Saturday and this one just sort of happened!

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Sentiment :- LOTV.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities.
Pearls and Stickles.
Kraft paper recycled from the inside of a roll of wrapping paper.
Raffia recycled from the flowers I got for my birthday from my husband.

For a quick card I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks for looking and I'll be back tomorrow with a card for the Less is More challenge.

House Mouse - Humour!

Hi everyone, me again. Unheard of for me to post twice in the one day! I'd like to say this is one of the images I coloured at my crop this afternoon. But I actually coloured it a few minutes ago. The one I coloured this afternoon had bright red cherries. I was convinced I had some DP with cherries on it and when I found it I realised it was the wrong colour for my coloured image. So nothing for it but to colour another one!

I can't resist House Mouse images, including Gruffies and Hoppers too.

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse.
DP :- Basic Grey.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon.

Challenges for this card :-
House Mouse :- Humour.
Pollycraft :- Pink, cream, red and white.
Basic Grey :-Anything goes.

Well it's not two posts in the same day any more as it took so long to upload the photo that it's past midnight now! Oh well I tried lol!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 132 - Charmed.

Good morning everyone and am I glad it's Saturday at last! I've been working full-time this week while my colleague's been off sunning herself in Spain. Let's just say it's been a long week. I was fed up by Tuesday so as you can imagine I'll be glad to see her back this Tuesday.

I've been very late getting my DT card made for Totally Gorjussthis week. It's a nice easy challenge too, we'd like to see a charm on your card or project. We're sponsored by Heather's Hobbie Haven this week so don't forget to pop over and check out her shop.

Here's what I made this week. I'll apologise now because I only had enough time to make a quick card!

I used :-
Image :- Happy Hopper from House Mouse.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Glamour Dust, charm and ribbon.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-
Truly Scrumptious :- Anything Goes.
Cute Card Thursday :- A Touch of Sparkle.
Charisma :- Metal Charms.
Fussy & Fancy :- New Baby.
Bunny Zoe :- Anything Goes.

Isn't that little Hopper cute? I love this stamp for baby cards.

I've got a crop this afternoon after work but since I've had no time to get any ideas never mind get my crafting stuff together I think I'm going to go for the knit and chat option. It'll be a good chance to catch up with the others and see what's new in the shop.

So I'll try to catch up later.

Thanks for looking and don't be shy, tell me what you think! I've been meaning to get together some candy for a while so I'll try to get that organised in the next few days.

Penny Black 201 - In the garden.

Here I am late at night again. I made this card yesterday for the Penny Black challenge. I thought this sweet image fitted their "In the garden" challenge quite well.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
DP :- First Edition.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment and Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Flowers :- Tonic punches.
Glamour Dust & ribbon.

This card also fits the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :-In the garden.
Oldie but a Goodie :- Things with wings.
By the Cute and Girly :- Spring is all around.

This working full time is really getting on my nerves. The worst thing is that some days are really quiet. Today I had two newspapers (not tabloids) read and Sudokus done before lunchtime. Tomorrow will be just as bad. I was glad to be going out tonight to a friend's house for some craft and chat. I think my DT card this week is going to be a bit of a rush. And then I've got a crop on Saturday afternoon so I'll need to find something to do there. Still no idea at the moment!!

Thanks for looking and I'll try to find some time to visit my favourite blogs tomorrow.

Happy Anniversary!

And here's the card I made for my husband for our anniversary.

I kept the card simple as I think that goes down best with men.

I used :-
Spellbinders m-bossabilities hearts folder.
Martha Stewart heart punch.
Hero Arts sentiment.
Buttons - Marianne die.
White gel pen to fake stitches on buttons.

Challenges for this card :-
Allsorts :- Card for a man or boy.
Totally Papercrafts :- No girls allowed.

I can't believe it's 36 years since we got married. It's also my birthday so he has the opportunity to forget both at the same time!! He never has funnily enough. We've just been out for a lovely meal which is a bit of a first for us! I have friends and relations who go out for a meal for birthdays or anniversaries or both but it's not something we've done very often. We all went out for a meal for our silver because my younger daughter organised it. Funnily enough Dad paid for it though!

On Saturday I had a beautiful bouquet from M&S delivered from Catriona and family. Then Mhairi appeared and she had an orchid, plus a pot to put it in and some orchid food! But biggest surprise was a Gorjuss Girls book to write in, and keep things in etc. Iain appeared yesterday too in time for our usual Saturday tea from our favourite Indian restaurant. He gave me one of those big Yankee jar candles. I also got cards from them all and work and one of my cardmaking friends. All in all a good birthday.

I've even got my ironing done already so I don't have to start doing it about 9 o'clock at night which is what often happens. My colleague is off on her hols today so that's me full-time till a week on Tuesday. Hope I can find the energy to get some crafting done.

Thanks for looking. Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend.

Totally Gorjuss - 131- Pink and Green.

Good morning everyone, are you all ready for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we have a colour challenge for you, we'd like you to use pink and green on your card or project. This week we're sponsored by the lovely people at Crafters Companionso don't forget to pop over there to check out what's new.

So here's my simple pink and green card.

I used :-
Image :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Ribbon and pearls.

Challenges for this card :-
Truly Scrumptious :- Anything Goes.
Charisma :- Pink and girly.

Well now that I've got my laptop back things should be easier here. I really missed it! As I found out there's only so much you can do with an iPad. But then I discovered Blogpress thanks to Debbi who was using it to post from her hols on her iPhone. I decided to give it a go and it was quite easy to use. I was able to use my iPad to keep up with my DT work and visiting my favourite blogs but it was not being able to add photos or links to a post that was the problem. So I'll just keep a hold of Blogpress in case I need it again!

Well hopefully I'll be able to keep up this week. My colleague is on holiday next week and I'll be working full time, lucky me!

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you all later.

Sunday, 6 May 2012

Oh no!!!

My last post just vanished!! I was going to add some challenges and when I went to the edit screen it was blank so I decided to just not bother. Then I went back to my blog and the post was empty. There was writing and a photo there.......honest! Well I can't sort it till I get my laptop back so I have to leave it. Thanks blogger. Don't you just love blogger..... Not! Hope everyone's enjoying this bank holiday.....weather permitting of course! Kat xx

Totally Gorjuss 130 -Sketch.

I was just catching up with some of my favourite blogs when I noticed that Debbi had posted using Blogpress from her iPhone. So I decided to check it out and download it and see if I could re-do this lost post!
This is the card I made using Net's sketch. Nearly forgot to say that as usual our sketch challenge is sponsored by Joanna Sheen. Joanna's shop is always well stocked so don't forget to pop over for a look.

Sorry it's not a very good photo. It's not easy taking a photo with an iPad! Better than nothing though.
I used :-
Image :- LOTV.
DP :- First Edition.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card candi & sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Glamour Dust, Martha Stewart punch, Marianne die and velvet ribbon.
I'd like to enter the following challenges. :-

Less is More 65 - Sketch.

Hi everyone, just a quick post with some quick cards I made using the sketch from Less is More. My laptop seems to have taken some sort of weird turn and is not right at all. Sometimes as I type it starts deleting what Ive just typed. So if my punctuation is odd, thats why. Seem to have lost my apostrophe!

I used:-
Image and sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.

I used the  other 3 stamps in the set to make another 3 cards.

I should go now and see if I can schedule my DT card for  tomorrow.

Thanks for looking. See you tomorrow

Love this new die!

Typical isn't it, just when I decide to write a new post my internet connection is so poor that I couldn't do anything. So I did my ironing instead!

I got a new Marianne die and I couldn't resist using it. These cards are quite simple but somehow it took ages to make the first one, the baby girl card. Probably because I spent time cutting out and embossing prams in white, pink and blue. I also cut out a few swirly corners in different colours.

I used :-
Pram :- Marianne die.
Swirly corners :- Memory box.
Blue corners :- punch.
Sentiments :- LOTV.
Flowers :- Tonic punches.
Card candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Glamour Dust, bakers twine, buttons, pearls and Spellbinders M-Bossabilities.

Not sure they've photographed very well but the embossing looks really nice in real life and I'm quite pleased with them.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-
Paperplay :- Monochrome plus ribbon.
Creative Card Crew :- Ribbon.

Thanks for looking and I hope you've all had a good weekend. We've been very lucky and had lovely weather, windy and cold but sunny and bright. I know some of you girls south of the border have had horrible weather but at least it's good for crafting. Until Saturday the weather was quite unpleasant here too. Hope it's better next week for us all.

Saturday, 28 April 2012

Totally Gorjuss 129 - Congratulations.

Good morning everyone. It's the weekend at last and I hope the weather's better than it's been this week. Rain, wind, cold, in fact just horrible!

But it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. We have a nice easy challenge for you this week. We'd like you to make a Congratulations card so that gives you plenty of scope. I've chosen to make a new baby card this week.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV die cut, cut out with a nestie.
Sentiment :- LOTV.
Embossed background :- Spellbinders M-Bossabilities.
Swirls :- Memory Box.
Flowers :- Tonic punches.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Glamour Dust, pearls & Promarker.

Not sure if there are any challenges for this card as I've had it made for a week - early for once!! I'll check for challenges after work.

Simon Says Stamp :- Anything Goes.
Creative Inspirations :- Anything Goes.

I've taken a notion for embossing folders and die cuts recently so you can expect to see more cards in this style soon. Here's a peek of two I'm going to post tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and I'll see what everyone's up to this afternoon.

We're going to the theatre this evening. I decided on Tuesday that I'd order tickets for Saturday. Isn't it expensive?!! And we don't even go to the dear seats! We're going to see "The Steamie" at his Majesty's in Aberdeen. Scottish bloggers might recognise this as it's been on TV a few times. It was first performed 25 years ago but it's still really funny so I'm really looking forward to seeing it on stage.

Edited to add :- drat stupid blogger, this is the second week my scheduled post hasn't been posted on time! Grrrr....

Christmas in April??!!!

Hi everyone from a very wet and windy Aberdeenshire! I'd like to stay indoors and keep warm but I know the dogs will want to go out before tea. Sometimes on my day off I'm not very early taking them out but I think I'll take them out early and get it over with!

Yesterday afternoon I was crafting with my friend and made a couple of cards. I thought it would be good to make a Christmas card for a change. I may have as many as three now lol!

I used :-
Image :- LOTV die cut.
DP :- MME.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
Snowflakes & icicle border :- Martha Stewart punches.
Glamour Dust, buttons, twine and gems.

I'm entering the following challenges:-
Papertake Weekly :- Sketch.
Winter Wonderland :- Buttons and Bows.
Christmas Card Throwdown :- Snowflakes.
Secret Crafter :- Inspired by a film - White Christmas.
Cute Card Thursday :- Animal Magic.

Well I'm off to make myself a nice cup of coffee and since it's my day off I'm going to have a KitKat.

Thanks for looking and I'll try to pop round some of my favourite blogs and challenges later.

Totally Gorjuss 128 - Boys' Toys.

Good morning everyone and I think I'll keep this short. I had this post almost finished and then the whole thing vanished. Don't you just love this new layout for writing posts? Not!!

This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is "Boys' Toys." We're sponsored by Heather's Hobbie Haven so don't forget to pop over there for a look.

I used :-

DP :- MME Everyday Flair.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Button, twine, star punch & Sakura clear, glitter gel pen. Glossy Accents on lights.

I'll come back later to add the challenges I'm going to enter as it's late now (on Friday evening) and I'm too narked to write any more now.

Well so much for writing this up late last night so that I could schedule it for this morning. Thanks to this new Blogger it didn't post!

Here's my challenges :-
Cards for Men :- Spring Colours. Everybody Art :- Card for a man. Pollycraft :- Cute Critters. Paperplay :- Animal Antics. Fussy and Fancy :- Punches and dies. Bunny Zoe :- Ribbon or twine. Creative Card Crew :- Kraft.

Totally Gorjuss 127 - Bling it on.

Good morning everyone and Saturday seems to have come round quite quickly this week. I've not been online much as I've been quite busy with my fundraiser cards. I've managed to do a bit of visiting my favourite blogs and kept up with my DT work but that's about it!

Anyway it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week our challenge is "Bling it on." We'd like to see some bling on your work. I think most of us like bling so feel free to use as much as you like!

Oops guess who forgot to say that we are sponsored by the lovely people at Crafters Companion. Smacked fingers for me!

Here's my blingy card.

I used :-
Image :- Hobby Art.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Glamour Dust, Sakura clear, glitter gel pen, pearls.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
St Lukes Charity Card Challenge :- Bling.
Pink Elephant :- Flowers.
Cupcake :- Spring is in the air.
Everybody Art :- Spring.

I hope it's a bit warmer this weekend than it has been the last few days. Still at least it's an excuse to stay in and craft.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you've got planned and I'll try to catch up later.

Totally Gorjuss 126 - Sketch.

Good morning everyone, I'm a bit late this morning because when I scheduled this weeks post I added the wrong card. When I realised and switched on my laptop to change the post my broadband connection had gone walkabout! So I decided to use my ipad but it wouldn't allow me to change the post as I wasn't connected through broadband! So I deleted it and hoped to have time to post this morning.

This week at Totally Gorjuss we have a lovely sketch for you to use. As usual for our sketch we are sponsored by the lovely Joanna Sheen.

And here's my take on it.

I used :-
Image & sentiment :- LOTV.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flower punch, pearls and Glamour Dust.

I'd like to enter the following challenges :-
Papertake Weekly :- Anything goes, option monotone.
Simon Says Stamp :- Use favourite tool - Cuttlebug.
Totally Papercrafts :- Bingo - I used pink, glitter and pearls.

Now I'd best get a move on as I'm off to GJWTHF with Kath, Debbi and Anne.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the Easter weekend whatever you've got planned especially if you've got the day off on Monday. I have to work as our holiday is always the first Monday in April.

Catch you later.

Friday, 6 April 2012

It's me again!

Yes it's me again, twice in the one day! Not like me at all but I have another card for Less is More. As I said before I was really inspired by the photo inspiration this week. This card was made using the image I thought of first when I saw the challenge this week. This is the second attempt. If you know me you wouldn't be surprised if I told you that I put another card down on top of it forgetting about the wet, black Stickles flower centres!! I managed to get the image and mats off without any damage and added them to another card.

I used :-
Image and sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Stickles.

I've got another four cards inspired by this challenge but I think that would be overkill, especially since the challenge closes in a wee while.

Thanks for looking, I'm off to schedule my Totally Gorjuss DT card, catch up with my commenting and visiting my favourite blogs as I'm out all day tomorrow at GJWTHF. I'm really looking forward to it!

I should really be cleaning but........!

I've just sneaked on here when I should be cleaning so I'd best make this short!

I was inspired by the challenge at Less is More and since I had a day off on Monday cos it was a local holiday I did some colouring after I'd made a couple of cards. I managed to get some crafting done yesterday and ended up making six cards. The photo inspiration and colours really inspired me.

So here's one of them.

I used :-
Image & sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Colouring :- Promarkers.

Thanks for looking and I'd best go and finish hoovering and cleaning the en-suite. What an exciting life I lead! Even better I'm working this afternoon. Can life get any better? Still I'm going to GJWTHF tomorrow, so that's something to really look forward to.

Catch up later. I might even pop back with another card!

Thursday, 5 April 2012

Well it was ok in the end!!!

I made an Anniversary card for my friend last week. Somehow I managed to mess up the insert but as it turned out I had managed to make the card upside down! So I decided to make an easel card instead. Still managed to mess up though as I nearly posted it without taking a photo. Not sealed though so I used my phone to take a photo instead. Problem solved....... well no not really since I got that wrong too and it wouldn't upload! Luckily my friend lives locally and she brought the card round yesterday so I got my photo at last.

I used :-
Sentiment :- LOTV.
Hearts :- Martha Stewart punch and a small Woodware punch.
Flower :- Magnolia Doohickey die.
DP :- First Edition - Spring Drop.
Pearls, Promarkers and Glamour Dust.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Dream Valley :-Wedding/Love.
The Pink Elephant :- Clean and Simple.

Well it's still really cold here and I hope the snow keeps going away. It was frosty first thing when I took the dogs out so the places that were wet yesterday were slippy today and the snow that was left was frozen. Not really the best situation when you're trying to hold onto two big, strong dogs!!

Thanks for looking and I really look forward to hearing what you think.

"Born to Be Wild!"

Do you think this hedgie look as if he's "Born to Be Wild?" I think he does have a bit of a wild look in his eye!

I had a day off on Monday so I thought I'd get some crafting done. The challenge at Penny Black this week is "Sing a long." As soon as I saw this image I knew I could enter the challenge.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Music background :- Penny Black coloured with Distress Inks.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Penny Black :- Sing-a-long.
Sir Stampalot :- Happy Birthday.
Joannsa Sheen Challenge :- It's a Man's World.

I had quite a lazy day yesterday. It was really nice just to play around with some stamps and just see what happened. I even got my DT card made for Saturday.

Thanks for looking and for any kind comments you have time to leave. I like to read what you think about my efforts!

Does Oliver like chocolate.....?

Silly question! Of course Oliver likes chocolate. I decided to make a gift bag for his little Easter eggs. I made the double pocket one from Splitcoast Stampers that I've made before a few times. The little eggs fit in it very well but not the bubbles. I forgot to say yesterday that I'd bought bubbles as well as Easter eggs as Poppy loves bubbles. I'm not sure if Oliver likes blowing bubbles but I expect if Poppy likes them he will too and if not she can have them.

I couldn't really make his gift bag to match his card as the DP on his card was only 6"x6" and I needed a piece of 12"x12" for the bag so I tried to use similar colours. I did use the same image though.

I used :-
Image :- Elzybells.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- DCWV.

As you can see from the photo below Oliver's bag doesn't really match his card except for the image! I don't suppose he'll mind, he'll probably only be interested in the chocolate!

I'm going to enter the following challenges with the gift bag :-
Paperplay :- Easter.
Totally Papercrafts :- Easter.
Charisma :- Easter.
Craft Your Days Away :- Easter.

I'm really looking forward to a day off today. Monday is not my favourite day to work, not because it's Monday but just because I have to work all day! This is going to be a good week for me time....I hope! Monday off, Wednesday my half day, Thursday my day off and Saturday a day off to go to Girls Just Want to Have Fun at the Papeterie. A day of fun and crafting with Kath, Debbi and Anne. Can't wait!!

Thanks for looking and any comments you have time to leave. I'm going to craft today and hope to catch up with your blogs tonight.
